I attended the annual Office Show last week in London. I love travelling to London, especially when I travel first class as it’s a lot more comfortable. I also get fed and watered and it’s one less thing to think about!

What I particularly dislike though, is the car park at Newcastle Central Station. Every space should come with a shoe horn so that you can actually get in and out of your car! The spaces are far too small. Anyway I digress….

The Office Show is a great event for PAs, Secretaries, Administrators and of course Virtual Assistants. I love looking around the trade stands and picking up ideas of what’s new in the industry.Magic Chart Notes - Edding UK - Office Show

I picked up the usual pens, notepads, nail files, which always come in handy. However, I especially love these Magic Chart Notes.  They are re-useable and can be used with any white board. I can definitely see some exciting opportunities for using them. How about you?

Huge thanks to Edding UK (Facebook link) for letting me have the samples!

The show is extremely well attended. Day one focuses on PAs, etc., and day two is dedicated to VAs. If you have products and services aimed at Office Professionals then it is definitely worth exhibiting. For more information, contact the organisers directly.

So, day two incorporated the VA Conference and the event is celebrating its 10th birthday this year. It was a day jam packed with tips and tricks aimed at Virtual Assistants. I was co-hosting the event and ran a quiz throughout the day in honour of the 10th anniversary. We put people’s memory to the test about the conference’s history.

And of course, there were the awards. Best Newcomer was awarded to Ruth Dyer of RDVA Virtual Assistant. Outstanding VA of the Year was awarded to Michelle Smith of ValueAdd Business Solutions Ltd. Best Trainer was awarded to Amanda Johnson of VACT. Congratulations ladies, all very worthy winners! Congratulations to the runners-up too.

So, what will next year bring? Will you be there?

I know I will!
