Things happen for a reason

I’m a firm believer in things happen for a reason. How about you? Please meet Marnie. She came into our lives on the 30th September 2017 and is a rescue labrador. She hasn’t had the best start in life but we are making sure that going forward she has the best life ever.Marnie

So, how did Marnie happen? I read on a Labradors Facebook group that a dog was needing a new home. Having been on the waiting list since January with a Labrador Rescue Centre, I thought I’d find out a little more. After speaking with one of the group admins, I paid Marnie a visit and fell in love with her straight away. I was a little hesitant at first due to a lack of self-confidence. It’s been about 20 years since I owned my own dog, although I have had more recent experience being a volunteer boarder for Guide Dogs. I was unsure if I could give her what she needs but I gave myself a good talking to and put plans in place to bring Marnie home.

Over the next few weeks, Marnie and I got to know each other better, I visited her regularly, took her out for walks and I just couldn’t wait to bring her home.

What’s this got to do with business?

I  have mentioned before that I love walking. It helps me to relax and unwind. I like the headspace it gives me, a chance to switch off from work and enjoy the fresh air. We all need to recharge our batteries and having Marnie means I now have a walking buddy whilst I clear my head of the hustle and bustle of business life. She loves to walk – or more to the point – run. She loves being free, which is no surprise given that she was tied up all the time before we got her.

Marnie and MeMarnie is a gorgeous girl. Things happen for a reason and I was meant to be on Facebook that day to read the post. I could easily have missed it but I firmly believe it was meant to be. We were meant to find each other.

She’s my shadow and is so loving. She makes me laugh with her quirky ways, things like rolling over her toys to put her scent on them. She makes such funny noises and makes me smile… a lot.

I hope she’s as happy as I am and I look forward to our many Marnie and Me miles together.
